A starter which is easy to prepare and is very tasty.

 

Ingredients

For tofu balls:-

  •  150gms Tofu ( grated ) 
  • 1 Finely chopped onion 
  • Finely chopped garlic
  • 1 Finely chopped green chilli 
  • 1-2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1-2tsp Pepper powder 
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1-2 tsp All purpose flour/ maida 
  • Chopped coriander leaves

For the batter:-

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour/maida
  • 2 tsp cornflour 
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water
  • Wheat bread crumbs for dipping the balls

METHOD

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and season it with cumin powder, red chilli powder, pepper & salt and set it aside.
  2. Add some maida as it acts as a binding agent and mixes them gently.
  3. Take this mixture and shape them into small evenly sized balls.
  4. Put all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and mix them until you get a thick batter.
  5. Dip the balls in this batter and coat them with the wheat bread crumbs & set it in the refrigerator for 10-15 mins.
  6. Deep fry these balls on a low flame until golden brown.

 

 

 

 

 

Serve it with tomato ketchup, vegan mayonnaise or any vegan dip of your choice.
