A starter which is easy to prepare and is very tasty.
Ingredients
For tofu balls:-
- 150gms Tofu ( grated )
- 1 Finely chopped onion
- Finely chopped garlic
- 1 Finely chopped green chilli
- 1-2 tsp Chilli powder
- 1-2tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1-2 tsp All purpose flour/ maida
- Chopped coriander leaves
For the batter:-
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour/maida
- 2 tsp cornflour
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Water
- Wheat bread crumbs for dipping the balls
METHOD
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and season it with cumin powder, red chilli powder, pepper & salt and set it aside.
- Add some maida as it acts as a binding agent and mixes them gently.
- Take this mixture and shape them into small evenly sized balls.
- Put all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and mix them until you get a thick batter.
- Dip the balls in this batter and coat them with the wheat bread crumbs & set it in the refrigerator for 10-15 mins.
- Deep fry these balls on a low flame until golden brown.
Serve it with tomato ketchup, vegan mayonnaise or any vegan dip of your choice.
