A mouthwatering starter along with rich sources of protein like Soy and Tofu makes it a perfect plant-based filling and healthy meal.
Ingredients
For the dough-
- 2 cups Flour
- 1tsp salt
- 6-7 tsp water
For filling-
- Small ginger ( finely chopped)
- 5 cloves of garlic( finely chopped)
- 1 onion(finely chopped)
- 1 carrot ( finely chopped)
- 1 capsicum (finely chopped)
- 2 french beans ( finely chopped )
- 1 green chilli ( finely chopped )
- 1 cup soya granules
- 1 cup tofu ( grated )
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2-3 tsp salt
- 2-3 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 stalk Spring Onions ( finely chopped)
METHOD
For dough-
- In a bowl, mix flour with oil and water.
- Now, knead the flour mix into a soft dough.
- Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for15 minutes.
For Filling-
- Heat oil in a pan and. Add garlic ,ginger & saute for 2-3 mins.
- Add the onions and saute for 5-10 seconds.
- Add all the finely chopped vegetables along with grated tofu and soya granules and saute everything on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, salt and red chilli powder and saute it again.
- Further, add the spring onions and check the taste & add soy sauce, salt if required.
- Let the stuffing cool completely and set it aside.
Stuff this filling while pleating the momo dough and shape it.
Grease the steamer with oil and arrange them in a pan.
Steam them for 5-6 minutes until the momo becomes transparent.
Serve the momos with Chilli oil or Schezwan chutney.
