Do you know where the puppies you see in pet shops really come from? Who is their mother, and where is she? How was she treated? What happens before a puppy reaches the shop window? What happens to the puppies that never get sold? And what happens to the puppies we bring home simply because they are cute, once they grow up? As they grow, their needs and behaviour change, and sometimes families struggle to handle them and eventually leave them outside. Is our love only for them as long as they are small and cute? And the pet industry isn't limited to dogs and cats. Birds, fish, and many other animals are also part of this trade and face exploitation. Why are some breeds born with lifelong health problems simply because we wanted a certain look? Before falling in love with a cute face, shouldn't we ask what happened behind the scenes to bring that animal there? What's the solution? Watch this video.
